I bought a Lemon

On 28 August I sent a letter to Mr Hooper the CEO of Ranger. This is now the 4th of September and I have not even received a call from customer service to see if my issues can be resolved. I asked Mr. Hooper for my money back on the 2020 VS1782WT Aluminum Ranger Boat. Basically I ended up with a LEMON in the VS1782WT. From the day I told the Salesman that I wanted the aluminum boat it has gone all wrong. I asked for a 9.9 Kicker Motor and a Minnkota ULTERRA Trolling Motor, An Oxygenator, a Stand Up Top and 4 Rod Holders. Shortly after purchasing the Ranger the salesman calls me and says he is out of Ulterra Trolling Motors and has searched the entire system and can not find one. He told me that if I could find one they would install it. I go on the internet and within 45 minutes I found three of them. I made sure it was the correct one and ordered it and had it sent to the dealer FRANKIE'S Bait and Marine in Chisago City MN. I should have realized at that point that this sale was not going well. How many people do you know who buy a new car and have to provide any add on's to the car because the dealer didn't have what he sold you? I was sold a Ulterra trolling motor and the dealer could not find one. I move on to the first time I put the boat in the water. After about 30 minutes the Pro 150 XS Mercury started to miss/sputter and there was the smell of gas in the driver seat, but we made it down river and when we got to the place that we were going to turn around as we could not get the boat to plane. We turned on the bilge pump and water pumped straight out for 4-5 minutes. When it stopped pumping we took off and got on plane. There had to be a leak somewhere. When we got back to the landing and loaded the boat on the trailer again we turned on the bilge pump and water shot out for another 3-5 minutes. That was after we had pulled the plug. I take the boat back to the dealer and tell them of all the problems. When I pick the boat up again they tell me that the motor has some kind of sensor in the fuel line and it was defective. They also found a small leak in the gas hose. They said that the live well was not sealed properly and that is where all the water had come from in the bottom of the boat. I take the boat out again and I keep turning on the bilge pump and water keeps pumping out each time I turn it on. There had to be another leak someplace. I had asked the first time out where my fire extinguisher was and the salesman told me he forgot to tell me that the boat did not come with one. So I have to go purchase a fire extinguisher. I also noticed that there was no Tilt/Trim gauge. The salesman told me that there was one on the boat that I was just not looking in the correct place When the stand up top came in I took the boat to the dealer to have it installed. I asked the salesman to show me where the tilt/trim gauge was. There was no tilt/trim gauge. I was supposed to be standard equipment on this boat. So they install a tilt/trim gauge and the stand up top. They had checked for leaks again and this time it was the fact one of the motor mounting bolts was leaking around the outside. They told me they sealed that and there should be no more leaks. Since being in the water on a number of occasions I continue to pump water out with the bilge pump. I am convinced it is still leaking. Oh I forgot. The 4 rod holders I was promised are no longer made by Ranger, and they don't plan on making anymore. The service manager is trying to find a replacement for the rod holders but so far he is having no luck finding it. Ranger has a special track for the rod holders so it is not like you can go purchase a rod holder that will work on the Ranger. Just one more nail in the coffin. You can see now, why I want my money back, and Ranger can have their boat back.

User's recommendation: Buy a Fiberglass Ranger not an Aluminum Ranger.

You know Bass Pro/Cabela's now own Ranger Boats. Lets face it we've seen this time and time again.

What happens when a great company is bought out by a big box company. Quality goes down and we start seeing product quality cut.

How many of you know that one of the first changes that Bass Pro/Cabela's did was CUT VETERAN'S DISCOUNT BY 50%. Thank for your service.

Trailer problem

Purchased a RT188 from Cabelas in April 2021. It came with no electronics. Purchased on the internet and they installed them. My main issue with the boat is the trailer. The tire rubs the back of the fender when it runs down the road and you hit a bump. Never noticed it until one day when I was in the drivers seat and was pulling the boat out of the water. Heard something rubbing. Almost sounded like the tire was flat. Less than 1/4 between tire and fender with nothing in the boat but tackle and gas. Took back to Cabelas. They said theyve never seen anything like it. Hopefully they will come up with a solution

Info for Seat removal

Factory did not know. After waiting about 5 minutes, I was ask to call a dealer. My dealer knows less than me!

For most smaller aluminum and glass models, the seat bottoms are affixed to the tank cover. The seat back has a removable cushion panel that should reveal screws holding it in place.

bought the 2021 ranger RT188p from dealer Boat City Hammond louisiana around March. Two times the boat had gotten rain on every compartment got Soaked with water along with everything that was stored in the compartments.

same exact thing with my 188P bought this year at Boat City Hammond. storages soaked.

they attempted 3 different times to repair. they have given up.

Ranger had not contacted me or the dealer. To say the least....Im not happy at all

Fuse box

No one could answer my question. Ranger 620 Pro FS. Tried calling for two all phone numbers no will answer call. Customer service could not tell me the location of the fuse box, the dealer could not tell me the location of the fuse box. The operating manual does not tell the location of the fuse box.

User's recommendation: Get people that are knowledgeable on your products.

Former employee-- The only fuse box I can think of on a Pro is directly underneath the driver's side console. Should be a medium sized rectangular box with a couple hot wires and I believe the NEMA cable.

Lack of communication with Cabelas and Ranger Boats

Faulty work

Will be taking my 2021 Ranger SV1660 in to the shop on Thursday to get the control arm fix ( stripped screw ) would domino reverse. Ang get the rod box lid fixed its warped and to get the dimple fixed on the oit side of the boat .and the aerator doesn't work Only had the boat little over a month .. All of these problems should of been addressed with and your quality control should of noticed these problems

Awful Policies Awful Service

The boat is back at Ranger factory for a 2nd time in a year in a half due to the weld cracking at the keel of the boat. I dropped my boat off to a service center first week of October right after it cracked again. Ranger did not get my boat from Service center until first week of March. Now they are telling me I have to wait in line from the time its received at the factory. I asked if the date I dropped my boat off could be taken into consideration and was told no thats not how we do business. That they take boats in from the time they are received at factory. What kind of customer service is that!? I am still 13 boats back for warranty repair. Waiting on a diagnosis since October 5th. Ranger dropped the ball and they are doing nothing to make it right. Missed my fall fishing season including big Championships and now it looks like I will be missing my entire spring and possibly summer fishing seasons.

User's recommendation: Do not buy a Ranger boat right now.

Bad customer relations , can’t get trailer axle

Had a trailer problem waited 4 months for axle that didnt come. Repair facility found a axle but with brakes. I wouldnt buy a ranger again if it was 1/2,the price. Ranger = junk.

Haven't been paid for warranty work

Bought a new 2017 ranger bay boat from a ranger dealer far from my home , had a few warranty claims, dealer gave me rangers warranty dept, they approved repairs and gave me PO's for my vendors...Now I cant get reimbursed , they won't return calls or email... 9 months and still waiting, I own 2 anger boats. I'm done with ranger

User's recommendation: dont buy a ranger boat unless you're near a reputable dealer.

Worst decision I have ever made

I have always dreamed about owning a Ranger boat. I saved up my money for years and bought a Ranger boat to retire and fish. Well I retired and ordered a new Ranger only to have numerous problems with the boat and motor. I have used the boat 3 times and had leaks, broken parts, motor problems and the boat has been in for repair for months. I received an email to rate my boat after owning it a week and rated them pretty high. I wish they would send me another email to rate them but I don't think I could say enough bad things.

User's recommendation: Don't depend on Ranger for much after the purchase.

Refueling issues with 2019 Z518

Refueling is quite a chore with my Ranger. It is very difficult to get the fuel filler to take fuel. I spent about 15 minutes just getting 4.5 gallons in. Can you give me some advice on how this can be corrected.

Your vent tube is clogged or bent or otherwise obstructed. This will not allow air to escape your gas tank as gas is coming in.

nope, it was the main filler hose badly kinked from the factory. Ranger dealer repaired and it is fine now.

No happy

Hello, I bought a new ranger RB200 from Berkeley marine in South Carolina, I was very disappointed in the way they handled my purchase. Latches were broke, Seat latch is broke, I’ve taken it to them and they kept it over a month and got it back after spending a additional $5k in upgrades and still have some of the same issues. I really like the boat just some things wasn’t done right so everyone is telling me to get on Facebook every day and write a complaint until everything is fixed right so I’m going to start with this email and we will go from there. I will never buy anyone else from Berkeley again so we will need a plan B for repairs

Several of us have had warranty issues with Berkley Marine here in South Carolina. They are USELESS when it comes to fixing issues on new boats.

Don't buy ANYTHING from them. I never will again.

Promotion package

I didnt receive the promotion package no clear explanation why not its pretty cheesy in my opinion if you pay 80,000 plus for a new boat regardless what time of the year it is when I bought in 2018 received the package for the investment the trinkets that were sent could have gotten them for 100 bucks total
